William Saporetti, 5th grader, recently received his plaque for winning the East Cocalico Township Storm Drain Marker Design Contest this past spring. For his outstanding design, William won a 2020 family pass to the Reamstown Swimming Pool. Also, he, along with the two runner-ups - Genesis Figueroa and Teira Hackman, received $25.00 gift cards for Barnes & Noble Bookstore.
The completed aluminum storm drain markers will be installed on approximately 700 drains around the township. They will serve as reminders so people do not pollute the drains. This will help keep harmful substances out of local streams and the Chesapeake Bay.
